ACCREDITATION:

Rockford Diocese, Illinois State Board of Education, member of the National Catholic Education Association

FACULTY:

20, all hold State of Illinois teacher certification, 4 hold Master’s Degrees 3 have been named Distinguished Educators in Kane County.

 

CURRICULUM:

Required coursework in the areas of Religion, Reading or Literature, Social Studies, Mathematics (including Algebra), Spelling, English, Science, Music, Art, PE, Computer Education and Library.  Religion classes include the preparation and participation in weekly all school Masses.

 

ACADEMIC PROFILE:

 

St. Rita students take the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills.  St. Rita School consistently scores in the top 10% of the nation on this test.

 

ADMISSION:   

 

Priority is given to currently enrolled school families. Secondly, preference is given to new families who are registered, active members of the parish.

 

TUITION:

 

Graduated tuition scale with a discount for each additional child.  Active parish families receive a discounted tuition rate because of their parish stewardship.      

SCHOOL DAY:

 

Grades 1-8:  8:35 am - 3:15 pm

KINDERGARTEN:

 

Students may attend a full day program or half day program.

Full Day:  8:35 am - 3:15 pm

Half Day:  8:35 am - 11:30 am

 

PRE-KINDERGARTEN:

A developmentally appropriate program for 4-year olds that meets for 3 half-day sessions each week.  (M-W-F) 9:00-11:30 or 12:30-3:00

 

TRANSPORTATION:       

 

Bus service is provided to students in K-8 who reside in West Aurora District 129 and live more than one and a half miles from school or a designated hazardous route.

 

EXTRA-CURRICULAR:

 

Interscholastic sports including football, volleyball, soccer, boys & girls basketball, track, cheerleading, Brownie/girl scouts and Cub/boy scouts, Math team, Chicagoland Spelling Bee, National Mathematics Competition, DARE, Choir, Band, and Piano.

ORGANIZATIONS:

 

Education Commission, Home and School Association, and Athletic Committee.

 

EXTENDED CARE:

 

Before and after school care is available daily.  Morning care is from 7:00 -8:15 am.  After school care is from 3:15 -5:00 pm.  Daily or weekly rates apply.
